Brand and Design Associate
The Brand and Design Associate is responsible for developing and refining the nonprofit’s brand messaging and creative designs, leading outreach and go-to-market planning, and fostering collaboration across the organization. This role also helps to build and maintain strong, collaborative relationships that support the nonprofit’s mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy:
- Lead the development of brand-building strategies that resonate with the nonprofit’s mission of supporting businesses.
- Create and implement weekly, monthly, and annual brand marketing strategies to increase awareness, engagement, and support for the nonprofit’s services.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of these strategies, making data-driven adjustments to enhance impact.
- Develop messaging strategies tailored to key audiences, including business owners, community partners, and donors.
Analytics:
- Oversee program-specific research efforts, including insights into business needs, segmentation, competitive analysis, and industry trends.
- Provide transparent weekly, monthly, and annual reports on the performance of marketing initiatives, sharing insights with leadership and stakeholders to drive improvements and identify opportunities.
- Use data to refine brand strategies and maximize opportunities for business engagement and community impact.
Collaboration:
- Partner with internal teams, including communications associates, program managers, development staff, and community outreach, to support nonprofit initiatives through brand and marketing plans.
- Collaborate with external partners, such as community business leaders and insights organizations, to develop impactful campaigns that support the nonprofit’s goals.
- Work with marketing teams to craft messaging that reflects the nonprofit’s mission, vision, and core values, while meeting the needs of business owners and partners.
Creativity and Innovation:
- Stay informed about industry best practices and emerging marketing trends that align with nonprofit sector challenges.
- Develop creative, mission-driven messaging that strengthens the nonprofit’s brand identity, while fostering business acquisition and community engagement.
- Lead the creation of digital design solutions for nonprofit programs and services, including websites, promotional graphics, social media content, email campaigns, and fundraising initiatives.
Design and Digital Media:
- Utilize design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and other tools to produce high-quality, visually compelling assets that align with the nonprofit’s branding.
- Create innovative and mission-aligned digital design solutions for websites, product graphics, email templates, social media, and photography, ensuring they reflect the needs of businesses served by the nonprofit.
- Ensure all design outputs maintain consistency with the nonprofit’s visual and messaging guidelines across all platforms.
Social Media Management:
- Lead social media campaigns that raise awareness about the nonprofit’s services for businesses and its impact on the community.
- Develop and manage a social media content calendar to maintain a consistent and mission-driven online presence.
- Engage with influencers and community partners to strengthen the nonprofit’s brand awareness in the business community.
- Monitor the organization’s social media presence, ensuring respectful, appropriate engagement, and timely responses to inquiries.
- Analyze social media performance data to assess whether campaigns meet objectives, report insights to leadership, and recommend improvements.
- Coach staff and volunteers on content creation best practices that align with nonprofit and business engagement goals.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or 3-5 years of experience in design and social media management, preferably within a nonprofit or business development context.
- Proven experience with design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, and similar tools.
- Demonstrated ability to make data-driven decisions, with experience working with ROI models and nonprofit impact metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with senior leadership, business partners, and community stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of marketing tactics in both the nonprofit and business sectors, with experience in digital marketing, SEM/SEO, and social media.
- Proven experience in project management, with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment, especially within a nonprofit setting.
- Proficiency in various marketing and communication software.
- Experience managing risk and budgets, with a focus on maximizing resources to achieve nonprofit goals.
Additional Details
Pay rate: $55,000 - 60,000 annually
Hours Time: Monday - Friday, Weekends and Holidays (if a holiday fundraising event is happening). This role requires travel (flexible scheduling, 8 AM, 9 AM, 10 AM start time.
