Associate Director
Our Village United (OVU) is seeking a dynamic and strategic Associate Director to lead daily operations, staffing, and compliance in a fast-paced nonprofit environment. The ideal candidate will play a key role in shaping and implementing community-oriented programs that advance entrepreneurship and economic development, while scaling OVU’s impact in transforming the nonprofit sector. This high-energy leader will be responsible for designing and executing strategies that align with OVU’s mission and long-term goals. Key duties include developing and refining policies and workflows to optimize organizational performance, ensuring sustained growth, and fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
The Associate Director will also oversee program development, ensuring that initiatives focus on supporting entrepreneurs and driving economic empowerment in underserved communities. This role requires a hands-on approach in managing staff, guiding leadership, and building strong community relationships, while embodying OVU’s core values of empowerment, inclusion, and sustainability.
Responsibilities:
- Manage daily operations and staff within the organization, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.
- Oversee department heads, including Marketing, Fundraising, Program Development, HR, and Accounting.
- Co-lead efforts in fundraising, working to meet annual revenue targets and collaborating with program development teams to ensure services meet the needs of OVU’s targeted populations.
- Attend and host fundraising events, program launches, and PR engagements as a representative of the organization.
- Serve as the public face of OVU during events, building relationships with reporters, donors, government officials, and community members.
- Track and report metrics, key performance indicators (KPIs), and workforce performance for organizational programs.
Fundraising & Public Relations:
- Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of fundraising events.
- Articulate OVU’s vision and mission clearly to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with department heads to explore new sources of funding and investment opportunities.
- Implement creative and effective public relations strategies to boost fundraising and awareness of OVU’s programs.
Compliance & Strategy:
- Ensure OVU adheres to all non-profit regulations and best practices.
- Lead initiatives to identify talent for critical roles within the organization and design strategies for staff retention.
- Network with industry peers and stakeholders to stay informed on sector developments and trends.
Operations & Management:
- Communicate with the Executive Director regarding operational decisions and strategic goals.
- Set and track strategic KPIs for long-term success.
- Supervise daily activities across various departments to ensure operational efficiency.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures to improve operational performance.
- Oversee the budget and finances of various small business support processes to ensure efficient resource management.
- Maintain strong partnerships with external vendors and stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a nonprofit manager or in a similar leadership role (5-7 years).
- Strong fundraising background (minimum 3 years).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, able to represent OVU confidently in public and private forums.
- Strong financial acumen and understanding of finance-related performance standards within nonprofits.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated ability to design and implement policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
- Familiarity with data analysis, performance metrics, and business software (ERP, CRM).
- Team player with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stay current on industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
- Solid problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
Additional Information
Salary Range: $75,000- 95,000
Position: Full-time
Schedule: 9 am – 5 pm Monday – Friday (occasional weekends and holidays)
Location: Atlanta, GA (Travel is required)
